Welcome to NUI Maynooth, the place you’ll call home for the next three or four years. Congrats for making it here because the Union is going to push itself to make this the best year yet.
My name, as you may have gathered, is Eoin and I’ll be your Finance Officer for the next year. This means that I’ll be sitting on various Union committees and boards that deal with the, well, financial aspects of how the Union is run; you know, financing events, providing money for facilities and generally making sure you guys are looked after. This, as I’m sure you’re aware, is incredibly important, possibly even making me the most important Union official (if only that ginger hair didn’t make everyone ignore you - ed).
Well anyway, I’m 21 and I’m in my final year of an Arts degree. I’m a Scorpio who enjoys long walks on the beach and candle-lit dinners. I’m a bit of a music and film buff so if you ever want to pop into the Union and wax lyrical about pop culture, I’m your man.
In the past I’ve been famed for being the moustachioed Ents Officer and this year I’m back to throw myself into helping to manage the Union with renewed vigour. So join as many clubs and societies as you can and attend as many Bar Exs as possible because every bit of profit we make goes back into running the Union which means better bands, extra cash for clubs and socs and more money for student services.
Anyway, make the most of it and I’ll see you ‘round the Union this year.
