Societies Officer

My name is Dónal Spring and I’m the Societies Officer for the coming year. I am a 3rd year science student doing Chemistry and Biology. I am 21, Sagittarius and enjoy long walks on the beach and watching the sunset. So what does a society officer actually do? Well I don’t really have a clue so if any of you find out it would be much appreciated if you’d let me know! So until then I guess I’ll be performing the following duties…. First I will be looking after capitation forms, which means I’ll be dishing out the cash for each society! Then there’s the matter of Clubs and Socs’ Council, which will be chaired by Mark and I. But the main thing I do is I represent societies by sitting on the executive committee with all the other officers you see here! Societies are the quickest and most fun way to meet new people and make new friends with similar interests. Maynooth has a huge variety of societies from the philosophy soc to the juggling soc – we have it all! And if we don’t, come talk to me and we’ll set up the society you think this place needs! So bring a few €2 coins along with you on clubs and societies day to see what NUIM has to offer you!
