S.H.A.G. Week 2010

February 15th launches the triumphant return of Sexual Health Awareness and Guidance Week here at Maynooth Students' Union. Keep you eye out for our posters, flyers and event to make sure that you're protected when it comes to the sexual side of life.

Student Travel Card

Whether you only go home once or twice during the year, or if you fancy heading to the other side of the country just for kicks; a Student Travel Card is the way to go. For a measly €15 you can save a fortune on your bus and train fare over the year. The best part is that it’ll be valid until December of next year! These, too, are available in the S.U. Office.

    Printing & Photocopying

Missed a lecture and need to photocopy your friend’s notes? Finished an assignment and need to print it out? Look no further than the brand new printer/photocopiers in the S.U Office. Because these ones are owned by the Union, we’re looking out for you guys. That’s why it’s the cheapest service on campus.

    Binding

Just finished your thesis and want to turn a handful of loose sheets into your very own book? Mary in the S.U. Office can bind your pages and give them a nice glossy cover in less than a minute and you can be on your way as a published writer for a minimal fee.

    S.U.Bar

We hold events in the S.U bar, it's a great place to socialise. Also there is food being served so no need to get hungry and it's reasonably riced too.

    Speakeasy

The Speakeasy Cafe is located next to the bar and Students’ Union offices. You can recognise it pretty easily by the giant “Juicee Luicee” sign on the window. Don’t be mislead, though; the Juicee Luicee is the smoothie bar in the corner. On the whole though, this is a great place to hang out, sit on comfy leather couches or check you e-mails on one of the many computers against the back wall. Being a café, it’s also an ideal spot to get a wrap, sandwich, roll, pannini, cup of tea, coffee, smoothie, fresh fruit juice etc; all at prices that won’t break the bank.

    S.U. Shop

You can buy food and drink, phone credit and also as much NUI Maynooth merchandise as you can carry, or as much as your wallet will allow at any rate.

    S.U. Meeting Rooms

Starting a new society and need a space to hold your first meeting? Meeting up with an existing society? Lucky for you, the Union provides four meeting rooms up stairs in the S.U. building to students free of charge. You just need to pop into Mary in the S.U. Office to book them.

    S.U. Clubs and Societies room

Catering for the needs of our Clubs and Societies, we have a specific room upstairs in the Union just for these students. If posters need to be designed and printed for events or if they need to send out an e-mail to their members about an up coming event; this room is theirs. Yet another incentive to join up on Clubs and Socs Day, don’t you think?

    The Print

As can be seen, the union does an awful lot, and there’s always an awful lot going on around the college, not to mention all the interesting things that happen outside of college. How is one supposed to keep up with all that? Why, The Print of course. The Print is the Students’ Union magazine. Choc full with news, info on events, what the clubs and socs are up to, what’s going on in the big bad world outside and also opinions and humour. The Print comes out every month. It's a large project and we’re constantly looking for more writers, photographers, cartoonists and editors, so if you have an interest in any of these areas, drop into Eoin in the Union offices and sign up. It’s great fun and also a great way to kick start your career in journalism, if that’s your thing.
